South Cak has been very good to me." The album release is set for August 7th. I did a lot of things that I would have never thought possible while I was here. He won a tournament style beat battle as well. one summer for WUSC, a local college radio station. In SC, Juice began to make a name for himself producing for several local artists as well as writing music. After his second year in D.C. Freestyling with classmates helped him to actually find his style and craft it. This is where he really began to see firsthand that Hip Hop culture was worldwide. This is reflected in my music." Juice spent his first couple of college years in D.C. But, my favorite style was the fusion of jazz, soul, deep, rumbling basslines, interesting chord progressions, and hardcore drums. I respected the hardcore (NWA, Tupac, etc.), and the political (Public Enemy, KRS-One, etc.). I gravitated towards a jazzier brand of Hip Hop. "My brother and I would go to the skating rink when they had hip hop night. During this period of time, he also began breakdancing. His brother was classically trained on the bass guitar, drums, saxophone, as well as some other instruments. "I wanted to play saxophone just like my big brother did," says Juice. "Grandma sang, Dad played the guitar, and Grandpa pretty much did everything else." When his father wasn't in church he was unknowingly introducing Juice to a world of music. He would go to his grandmother's church and be blown away by the feeling the music would give him inside. Back in Mobile, Alabama, where he was born and raised, his father, grandfather, and grandmother all played or sang in the church. Juice aka MrFreez is simply continuing a family tradition of creating and performing great music.
